face lift for a night light

This is it unlit and finished.

I got this as second hand and it was horrid. My son wanted it for his room. I gave it a make over.


It was one of those fake aquarium with pictures that move.

pulled it apart

The motion piece was very noisy so we disconnected it.

I then sewed out the design with my Embroidery machine, after I fiddled with it and added some extra elements, He is mad for dragons,I stitched the piece into a round. I had to hot glue it to the uprights as it kept slipping off, I put it back together and wrapped it and put it under the tree.
I want to make another one now they are fun.....


with the light on.
it will look even better at night.


 I am very happy with how it came together.

I hope he will be when he opens it on christmas morning.

The good thing about it is that it has lugs on the back so you can hang it on the wall.

so long as it is not plugged in most of them just pull apart quiet easily and you don't have to touch the wires at all.

give it a go and show us your results. I want to try another using tissuse paper in glued layers as a collage and then embroider over that.
