Whether a quick classroom project or something to create at your own kitchen table, this gingerbread house treat box will be a hit with all those involved. When you are done, make sure to fill it up with your holiday goodies!



Here is how to make it:
Required Supplies:
Scissors
Quick Dry Fabric Glue
Single Hole Punch
29 x 12 Stick-It Felt Sheets
112 x 18 Cocoa EZ Felt Sheet
Jute/Twine
Gingerbread House Treat Box Template

Gingerbread House Treat Box Template


Instructions:
1) Using theGingerbread House Template,cut out the below pieces:
     12 x 18 EZ Felt:
         Treat Box Pieces
             TIP: After you cut out the house as one piece, lay the template pieces over it
             and fold according to fold lines. It will make assembly much easier.
         Gingerbread Man

     9 x 12 Stick-It Felt Sheet- Color A:
         2 "Icing" Side Outlines for House
         2 "Icing" Front/Back Outlines for House
         2 Swirls for Peppermint Windows
         1 Rectangle
         3 Small Circles (door knob, buttons for gingerbread man)
         2 Wavy Lines for Sides of House
             TIP: Cut a long strip of this and cut to size later

     9 x 12 Stick-It Felt Sheet- Color B:
         Front Door
         2 Circles for Peppermint Windows
         3 Squares to go over rectangle on front of house


2) Begin assembly of the house:
     Start with placing large "icing" outlines in place.
   

     Place swirls on peppermint windows. Put windows in place on front and back
     of house.

     Add door to front of house. Finish with doorknob.

     Add side wavy icing pieces.
   

     Add stripes on top of rectangle piece. Put rectangle in place on front of house.
   

3) Apply glue to side folds to glue box into place.
     TIP: We use a piece of tape to help keep everything in place while drying.
   

4) Punch holes on top flap sections.
   

5) Decorate your gingerbread man with two buttons. Punch a hole on one hand to affix to box.

6) String gingerbread man and two flaps together with twine. Tie in a bow.

I love the idea! I have been trying to figure out how to make something similar to this for a while. Can you post the link, as I can't get it to work or is it just me being technically-challenged?  Cheesy
