A friend wanted me to make him a hat with a patch of his favorite hockey team, the Canadiens.  (And although the name implies they are "THE" Canadian team, there are others.  I don't get it, but I'm not a sports person.)

I acquired the blue yarn at a homecoming tailgate.  There was a partial skein of blue yarn sitting in the middle of a table in a food tent.  The people at the table got up and left, so I snagged it.  I have no idea who would need a skein of yarn at a tailgate, and why they abandoned it, but I feel I put it to good use!

So share your stories of the oddest place you've gotten yarn..... I'm sure there are some good ones out there in craftsterland!

Oh and, comment on the hat! Cheesy

Well I can't think of any interesting yarn finding stories off the top of my head, but I like your hat!  My hubby is a Canadiens fan too.  The blue yarn you found suits this perfectly, and the hat looks so warm and cozy great job!
