that is awesome!  i'm  new at this polymer stuff, but did you just roll out a sheet of black and put it on the mirror back and then stamp it with the plastic canvas?  It sure turned out great, and makes so much sense!

I covered the back of the mirror with black clay then put a small bit of plastic canvas on top. It was already in the shape of a circle and fit perfectly. I pressed it very lightly to stick it to the clay. After I was done with the powders I just lifted it off very carefully.
