Frugal Living Swap?

I am definitely interested in any swap that focuses on using up my massive stash! I have been wanting to cut back on swapping, but as long as the timing works out I will sign up for this one.

I don't think I'd want to do a flat rate, I'd prefer just to stick to size guidelines - also, the Canadian flat rate boxes are express, so generally that's more expensive (and QUITE a bit more expensive if you're shipping outside your region). But then again, take my info with a grain of salt, since I doubt my likeliness of joining due to The Move.

I wasn't planning on requiring anyone to send their package in any particular way - just opening the opportunity if people wanted to!  The requirements will be one medium and three smalls, more to be determined with your partner.

hmm flat rate for inside a region is 11$ I'm not sure what it is outside, I think $25. But you can stuff that sucker FULL and it can weigh 50lbs and it wont cost you extra.

oops forgot to mention they dont have flat rate boxes anymore, just hard and bubble envelopes, kinda sucks, but you can still fit a lot in them. I did a swap with them not to long ago. It was fun.

I'm not saying the swap should be like that, I'm just saying it's a good way,for me, to send packages within Canada. If I'm matched up with a Canadian that's prob how I'll send anyway, depending on the size of the items I send of course



One medium and two smalls would be great! A very low stress swap, exactly what we need after christmas!

Everyone still up for this?  I know there was some discussion that this topic might be too similar to the Reduce, Reuse, Recycle swap ... I don't want to step on any toes.

I think this is still a good idea. I think these are two different swaps.  While they can incorporate some of the same ideas, this is about frugal living and running a frugal household.

I"m definately still up for this! I too see that they are different, we may not neccessarily be using items we already have in our stash to make cloth napkins, reusuable grocery bags, etc. Where as the RRR swap is not about making strictly frugal items, but using recycled things. I was planning on joining both, and have 2 seperate lists in my head as to what to make for the swap.

Okay, good!  I was thinking they were different in my head, but I've learned that just because it makes sense to me, doesn't mean it really does!

I'm working on the questionnaire now and will open sign-ups later tonight.

Oh, GOOD! How long will sign ups be open?  If we're partnering in Jan. I'll be in for sure...but I promised not to do anymore swaps until then.    My brain needs to get through all the Christmas/New Years craziness before I can commit myself to anything more.
