Well, the holidays will be over soon(ish) and for me, that means going back (er ... really, getting ON) a budget of some kind.  This means using my stash rather than buying, making recipes where the leftovers are just as good as the first round, eating in more often, using up the last of the soap, etc etc.  Crafted items could include some good recipes, a coupon organizer, knit/crocheted dishcloths/washcloths, pretty dishtowels, reusable menstrual pads or diva cup/mooncup bag and wet bags, soap savers, homemade laundry soap, homemade bath soakss (we all deserve indulgence!), reusable grocery bags (you save 5 cents at my grocery store for each one you bring - which adds up!), wrist warmers (instead of turning up the heat) ...

I know, so glamorous, right?  But fun, I think!

Anyhoodle, I was wondering if anyone would be interested in a swap centered around this?  It'd be centered around using what you have and maybe the flat-rate boxes to have a set shipping amount?

Has this been done before and I just didn't see it?

Oh yay!  The more I think about it the more ideas I have. Smiley

Cloth napkins, wool dryer balls (I have the plastic but things are still static-y), dryer sachets ...

I love this idea! Lots of great things could be crafted. Piggy banks or coin jars, frogged yarn from thrift shop sweaters, felt toys, herb mixes, dip mixes, cute recipe cards, blank price books.

Count me in.

(Heh, for those that saw my previous post ... that was meant for another thread.  Whoops!)

Anyway, I love your ideas, zcrafter!  I had a few more today, but now I forget them.  Darn it ... I'll write them down next time. Cheesy

I would love to be a part of a swap like this!

Reusable produce bags and shopping bags, plarn and yarn made from other recycled goods, cloth napkins, all kinds of things can be made from recycled items!

Woo hoo!  I was thinking after the holidays - sign ups mid to late December through the beginning of January ... send outs early/mid February.

Thoughts?

This sounds like a really fun swap.  I'm all about (trying) to be frugal and on a budget.  I really need it this year, too! I wanna buy a new van to corral the kiddos and still have breathing room.  HAHAHA

Anyone have any suggestions for how big of a swap?  How many points/what size of the crafts?

It would be kinda cool to have one of the things be that we cant buy anything. Everything is made from stash or recycled. Maybe 5 pts? Or a small and a medium?
