This seems like a great idea. If I can salvage enough of my craft supplies from our storage for pre-house-listing, I'd probably be in! Although... if it's going to be one medium, 3 smalls (or another specific size), it doesn't also need to be a flat rate box, right?

(Asking mostly because flat rate boxes tend to be US-only!)

Yes! I love reusable stuff so I can save money, when are you thinking sign ups would start and send outs?

I'm thinking sign ups will be middle/end of December (whenever I get the feedback from my second official swap!) through the first week of January, just in case people are too busy over the holidays to sign up.  Send outs a month laterish - early February. Smiley

Canada has flat rate packages as well. Maybe just have a canadian group to send to eachother and a US group to send to eachother. I'd hate to be exclude just because of where I live. I miss some really great swaps becuase of that.

I am planning on the swap being open to everyone, and will try to group accordingly. Cheesy

Other ideas could be home-made paper (from recycled stuff), shrinky dinks from #6 plastic, crocheted bags or baskets from plarn, old t-shirts, socks, or fabrics etc..  You can even use plarn or fabrics on plastic canvas items.

Maybe this can be combined with this theme as they are quite similar.

This would be awesome.  Most of my crafts already are something where I'm reusing, and most of my supplies are thrift, freecycle, or inherited so it fits in well with trying to live frugally.

I'll be looking for another swap in the new year..since I'm not taking on any new ones right now.  This sounds great to me and if I was in a Canadian group, I would be happy to do a flat rate (especially if we are partnered in regions..it's much cheaper that way) or if people would rather, a certain number of items or point value would be fine, too.  I have a HUGE stash of...all sorts of things..and after the holidays I should be freed up to do some crafting again that isn't just for Christmas.  I even have some fused plastic that has been waiting to be used for the last two (or more) years. Smiley  This is what happens when you have crafting ADD like me...and three young children and a pregnancy to boot!

i'd definitely be up for this.  i work a minimum wage job, and live in a town where rent is ridiculously high still, so i've gotten good at being frugal!

and i'm another canadian too (looks like there's lots of us in this thread!)
