Hi crafty people!
This is my first challenge- as well as my first doll, first recycled sweater, and I am so incredibly pleased with how my little Miss Molly turned out!
Meet Miss Molly Puddlesox

She started out as a sweater (at one time a very expensive sweater from Talbots, now $3.99 from Goodwill...) and a t-shirt (also $3.99), plus a pair of well loved purple infant tights ($2).

(there is another navy sweater that I considered using but ended up not- a lovely 100% wool Eddie Bauer that has been felted to a size that would fit my 4-year old).

Miss Molly's body was crafted from the t-shirt, and her lovely ensemble from one arm of the sweater. The tights I sewed down so that they create a body covering as well as long dangly legs. The tights had a lighter shade on the toes and heel, and I ended up having to trim off the heel. However, the way that the toes came together, they created little mauve shoes for my fashionista.

I used extra stuffing, purple yarn, felt, embroidery thread and a few buttons left over from projects from long ago,, and voila- there she is! I love her, and am so excited to have made something for my baby girl. She thinks Miss Molly is pretty neat too

This was a really fun challenge, and I love everything everyone has done- so much creativity!
Thanks for looking!

She is adorable.  I love the facial expression and the colors you used.

First of all.. not only is she ridiculously CUTE... but what an adorable name!  Your pictures are well thought out, the way you show the materials lend to a "tutorialesque" following of how to go about piecing this together.  Craftsters beware.. you cannot make such a cutie without bestowing an equally cute name!
