I copied this off of one I'd seen on Etsy. I usually frown upon copying other people's work, but I'm not selling this, only giving it as a gift.

Please excuse my bed head!

You can't see the little glitter red spider on the front.

The original artist used a black satin. I used a fake leather, because that's what I had. She also used a real veil, where as I used black tuille.

Boldly going where others have probably been.

That is cool! I also copy things I see but not to sell, just for me. I would gladly buy the things that others make but I am POOR, lol.

wow, this is really cool! obvious/stupid question: is it heavy? and was it ok getting the skull to stay in place?

just to weigh in, i too am broke, so often use others as inspiration for things im gonna be wearing myself/giving as a present. i always try to change something tho just to make it "mine" (not that i should bother, most of what i make never really goes to plan  Cheesy )

Don't worry girls, it's only ripping it off if you copy it ENTIRELY. But we are all inspired by things around us, and you will unconsciously re create things you have seen and loved. That's fashion! And back on topic, this is a super cool fascinator. I love the skull, even if it is a bit big for my taste. If it were a little one I would snatch it up!

The skull is styrofoam.. It was part of a Halloween skeleton that my kids tore apart. I was able to use an awl to put holes into the skull to sew it on. It's really not that heavy. I sewed a piece of beading elastic on to be worn under the hair. When worn this way, it's very stable.
