Hi. This is a keychain I made with my dog's initial ("B" short for "Bela.) I didn't really know what I was doing and just kind of made it up as I went along. I love glass seed beads and wanted a small project.

I used cotton canvas and made a sort of square pouch, and sewed a ribbon loop in for the keychain to go on.  I don't recommend canvas as the fibers have a tendancy to separate (and skew the image.) I'm working on another one now and I used a tight weave fabric with interfacing on the back (big improvement.) I used size 11 seed beads and nymo thread (I think it was D thread.)

Wow, you sewed each bead on?That's way more patience than *I* have! This is really great and I love the colours. Hey, you could make an actual dog tag for Bela! That'd be a conversation statrter when you take him/her out for walks!

Thanks for the props! Naw, I didn't really sew every individual bead on, you kind of string a bunch and lay 'em down, then tack over the thread in certain places. The dog tag is a great idea.  I  would probably have to make them for my friends' dogs, because my very tomboyish female dog LOVES rubbing her neck in poop (all kinds: donkey, horse, cow, dog, cat, and bird poop.) So I can't put any cute collars or bling on her because it usually ends up dirty pretty quick. Darn!
