I'd really like to be able to take my own pictures for my website and not have to pay a professional every time I create something new.  I've been working with a lightbox for a while, and it's worked ok, but I think I need something better.  I bought some pretty fabric to place in my box and now I just need your opinion... does the fabric make a difference? Do you think it's any better with the fabric, or do you prefer the shots without?

I took pictures of two trees with and without the fabric in the lightbox. Which one do you like better?

Tree #1 Without Fabric

Tree #1 With Fabric

Tree #2 Without Fabric

Tree #2 With Fabric

Any and all thoughts (from photographers and non-photographers!) are GREATLY appreciated! Smiley

Edit:  Here's a new tree taken in my same lightbox, but with scrapbook paper as the background.  I would love to hear how you feel about the effect!

I'm no expert, but I like the non-fabric ones better... they seem "cleaner" to me.  The fabric is a bit distracting, in my opinion.  Again, I'm no expert!

Thanks so much fantasticmio! I'm not really looking for expert advice, just opinions from normal people like the ones that will be viewing my website one day. Smiley

I vote for plain as well.  It gives the picture kind of a clean zen feel that I think is good for the bonsai-ish sculptures you're trying to sell Smiley

I like the scrapbook paper background, too.  I think it goes well with the style of the tree without being too distracting.  You could go either way (paper or no) with the pictures and do well, I think. Smiley
