Hi crafty people!
This is my first challenge- as well as my first doll, first recycled sweater, and I am so incredibly pleased with how my little Miss Molly turned out!
Meet Miss Molly Puddlesox

She started out as a sweater (at one time a very expensive sweater from Talbots, now $3.99 from Goodwill...) and a t-shirt (also $3.99), plus a pair of well loved purple infant tights ($2).

(there is another navy sweater that I considered using but ended up not- a lovely 100% wool Eddie Bauer that has been felted to a size that would fit my 4-year old).

Miss Molly's body was crafted from the t-shirt, and her lovely ensemble from one arm of the sweater. The tights I sewed down so that they create a body covering as well as long dangly legs. The tights had a lighter shade on the toes and heel, and I ended up having to trim off the heel. However, the way that the toes came together, they created little mauve shoes for my fashionista.

I used extra stuffing, purple yarn, felt, embroidery thread and a few buttons left over from projects from long ago,, and voila- there she is! I love her, and am so excited to have made something for my baby girl. She thinks Miss Molly is pretty neat too

This was a really fun challenge, and I love everything everyone has done- so much creativity!

First of all.. not only is she ridiculously CUTE... but what an adorable name!  Your pictures are well thought out, the way you show the materials lend to a "tutorialesque" following of how to go about piecing this together.  Craftsters beware.. you cannot make such a cutie without bestowing an equally cute name!
