I want to make a skirt out of silk dupion.  It's to sit on the waist, and be about 20 inches long, or so, so it finishes a couple of inches above my knee.  I'm debating how to make it.  I'd like it to be pretty voluminous, so I'm looking at doing a 3/4 circle skirt or a gathered skirt as per Gertie's tutorial here.  Which would work better given the fabric?  Should I use a lining, and if so, what?

I'm actually partial to a lightly gathered 1/2 circle, myself.  But with the texture of the dupioni, a straight up gathered skirt would probably look best.

I think the same, gathered for dupioni sounds better.  And you can line it with silk lining, so it will slip easily on your body.
