This top took me about ten minutes and required nothing but a pair of scissors.

Step 1: Cut off the sleeves


Step 2: Cut out straps for neck and back, cut excess fabric from bottom


Your fabric should now be one contiguous piece that, when laid flat, looks like this:


Tie around you and you're done!

that's awesome.  I made one out of red and am wearing it over a black longsleeved shirt for schoool. (Yes, I AM a bit odd)

I have the same halter, except it has three ties at the back, is a little longer and says FDNY on it.  But it's the same style.
