I've not been doing hand embroidery for long and this was just a little piece for me to practice a bit of back stitch. It's only about ATC size and was a wee scrap of cloth that only just fitted into my tiniest hoop.

The design is something I saw in a teach yourself calligraphy book ages ago and for some reason it really lodged in my brain.

It's nicely made.  But, I guess I'm the odd fish out because when I looked at it and really thought about it, I didn't think "cute," I thought, "Oh, that is creepy."  Really give some thought to it, and it's kinda sad and disturbing.  But, like I said, nicely made.  Good stitching.

That's awesome...the line is right out of one of my favorite (albeit simple) Stevie Smith poems.  Actually...a lot of the imagery in her writing would lend itself to silly embroidery.  =)

It's beautifully done.  Excellent design.  Heartbreaking sentiment.  I also want to know what you're going to do with it.

I like that so much!  If I may suggest (feel free to ignore me), that would make a great jacket pin or patch.  It needs to be where the world can see it.

Technically, when you're drowning you're unable to wave - most people never realize a person is drowning at all, because they don't recognize it when they see it. (quite important to know! Smiley )

But the quote is great from a more philosophical point of view, and I LOVE the embroidery Cheesy
