Inside a dog it's too dark to read.

I decided during the second week of November that I wanted to make a quilt for my sister-in-law for Christmas. I knew the "Turning Twenty" pattern would go together quickly since several friends have made them. I spent about 20-25 hours on this quilt, including the machine quilting. The quilting is not perfect, as my machine really needs a tune-up but as a snuggle up on the couch quilt and not an heirloom or anything, I think it's good. So, some photos -

Here is the front (it was windy, hard to get it still.. it is about 75x88 I think.

Here is the back.. She's single so I thought she would appreciate the sexy cowboys. The fabris is "Wranglers" by Alexander Henry.

And finally, the label - I have a fabric with label designs pre-printed, I just fill in the info with a fine point fabric marker.

If you're looking for a quick and easy quilt, this one is a good option. It uses 20 fat quarters for the front. I had almost no purple in my stash, so I ended up buying all the fabric for the top, backing and binding, at my local quilt shops and it cost around $100 with some fabrics on sale and some at full price.

The purples are beautiful and who doesn't appreciate sexy shirtless men? LOL

Thanks guys! My sister-in-law should get it in the mail today or tomorrow, so I am anxiously awaiting her response. :-)

Love the purples  Smiley I really like the turning twenty pattern, it's simple but looks fantastic! And that Alexander Henry fabric is awesome, I have some of that as well which will hopefully make a friend pretty happy on Christmas  Grin

I am thinking about buying more of the cowboys to make a pillowcase. I also have builders and firemen so I could be a whole pillowcase collection.

Of course, last year I made her a reversible Democrat/Republican pillowcase (we're on different sides of that fence).

Still waiting to hear her reaction. She's probably being a good girl and waiting til her birthday tomorrow to open it.

She likes it a lot I think.

Yesterday she posted on Facebook - "heading off to bed with a dozen half-naked cowboys..." :-P

Now if I can finish the Christmas quilt I am working on.
