Starbucks lovers out there

so, yeah, I go to Starbucks everyday on my way home from work, and then on Saturday and Sunday Im usually there at least twice a day...........So needless to say, most of the staff know me by name and drink..... they also know how crafty and creative I am..... about a year ago they started saving all the used gift cards for me, my goal is to be able to totally cover a floor to ceiling double wide bookshelf and endtable......I used some of them to make  notepads for the staff at starbucks as well as some of my swap partners......



they were pretty easy to do .... just very time consuming.....I had a template for where the holes had to be.....each of the holes had to punched one at a time....I used a leather punch......







I also made this pincushion out of one of their trial cups.........this was pretty easy as well but took about a week , with coats and coats of different things to try to make it water proof, shiney and sturdy.......every time I did a coat of something else I had to wait overnight fo it to dry.......I even put layers of plaster on the inside...........

That's pretty impressive.  That's a lot of coffee.  I love the little notepads, though.  Way to recycle.  And the pincushion is really cute.

I Love your little notebooks. they are soo cute. I bet you could make a bunch out of Christmas gift cards. I wouldn't want to punch all of those holes. I saw this post a while back...

She did hers with a machine called a bind-it-all. I wonder if it would work with something as sturdy as a gift card?

yeah, the black one is a gold card.... when the stopped selling them at the stores, and only sold them online...... a very "secret" employee gave me the ones they were supposed to "distroy"......
