So in one of my groups on another site, we are doing secret santa.  I got a totally awesome girl that i really like.
I decided to make her a purse.
She loves blue, so this is what she ended up with.  I just finished the makeup bag Smiley

Thanks for looking!

She is totally going to love it!  It is so very well made and funky!  Love the mix of fabrics and patterns!

Bet you can't wait until she receives!  Cheesy

Oh, this is lovely.  I really like the colors and it's a fabulous pattern, too!  She's a very lucky recipient!

The makeup bag is also gorgeous--can you tell me about your inside zipper?  Is it piping?  I love the look!  I do a bound buttonhole type of thing but I turn the facing in all the way...if you are willing to share, I would appreciate it... Grin

You know its funny, but i tend to steer clear of zippers completly.  Its the one thing that i havent mastered yet.
I am in the process of making another of these bags exactly, and i will post some pictures of the zipper process for you.  I should have them up later.
Its more like an accident that it looks like piping!  Its a pretty awesome oops.

ha ha no need--I think I figured it out--if I don't turn the facing in all the way, it will make the same piping effect!!  I think it is a great oops!!  Cheesy

What a lovely set - great fabrics, and I love the shape of the bags - very pretty and feminine!

I bought fabric to copy your bag today. Any chance you could tell me the dimensions you used?

The bag is simplicity 2617, just without all the quilting or snazzy-ness (lol)

the dimensions are 16 1/2in. w X 13in deep, the gusset is about 3 inches after sewing Smiley
