This is so bad a$$! I have decoupaged onto plywood, but never really worked with these materials. I LOVE the treble clef & the color is so spot on. Excellent job, mate!  Cool

There is a method to my madness. Not really.

Hey there, *LOVE* the project Smiley Am new to mosaic though so am wondering what you meant by a cradle for the plywood?
I don't know what I don't know. But I want to know.

A cradle is strips of wood that border/frame the plywood on the back.  Sorta like a shadow box but only on the back.  Putting a cradle on thin plywood will help keep it from warping and twisting in the future.

With mosaics there could be potential for the pieces to pop off if the plywood (or what ever you use) gets bent out of shape. So putting a cradle on it will help prevent that.

My cradles strips have been one inch by one inch and then glued on with Gorilla Glue and also nailed on with really small nails.

@ twodustyboots:  Be sure to check out the Glass Board here on Craftster for the grouting tutorial by HSG. It's most excellent!  (Good luck on the singing lessons!)

Thanks everyone for the comments! I am completely thrilled that you all loved it so much!

I'm not obsessed. I'm excessively enthusiastic.
