I'm thinking about joining, but have not tried my hand at soap-making
yet, so I hope it's ok to knit up some goodies instead?
Would that please a partner?  (along with some purchased
extras, ya know~)

You dont have to make soap..There is a Huge ray of things that can fall into this swap...I know there are several that love hommage bath scrubbies, face cloths. there is a ton of items for this swap it is a Bath/Spa swap...

This sounds like fun! I'm someone who would have soap (cold process, 12 years tried and true recipe), cuticle cream, bath salts, massage oil (maybe more) to send and would love knitted things in return--- especially socks/slippers, exfoliating mittens/scrubbies, etc.

... I've got to make sure I don't over commit myself, but I hope I'm able to join!

I've never tried to mail bath goodies like salts and scrubs. What are some mail system proof ways of sending these items so that the entire package doesn't turn into one big pile of goop?

This is a tricky thing to so
Dry salts can be packaged in ziplock bags in side of cloth bags or inside of plastic jars, that screw or rubber seal. Oils are very tricky, they should be tested to see if the leak by being placed up side down in side of a plastic bag. Even store bought sealed ones can have accidents. I would still ship them in a double lock ziplock bag but I am paranoid (but that is ok as long as you keep your "noids" in "pairs" they are ok.)

I know a lot of people who ship salt/sugar scrubs they  emulsified it so that it doesn't run all over the place while shipping. So that could be an option....

Strawberryh - yes ziplocks are awesome and have been a life save many a time
