First scrapbook - memories for someone far away

Bit of background - my son moved to the US a month ago with his dad, I'm still here in New Zealand. He turns 4 in February. Before he left, a friend took some professional photos for us. I decided to send them over in an album for him so he would be able to look through and remember his Mama.

Anyway, despite being a total noob when it comes to this stuff, I'm reasonably happy with the end result. I tried to make it as interactive as possible, not a small task! I think this will be the last time I make one.

Front page, the tag swings



Page 2, a short poem for him, Page 3 (and 4) the photos come out to reveal a hidden message underneath. Page 5 is basic!







Page 6, 2 photos tied with ribbons flip up, 7 and 8 are basic







Pages 9 and 10 are basic ones. Page 11 has a booklet thing tied with ribbon that opens up:





Final page "So Heaps". Because that is how much he always says he loves me.

It's lovely. I think you've done a great job and the photo's are fantastic! You must really miss your little guy, I know I would. I'm sure he will love it and he'll certainly appreciate it properly when he gets a bit older.

I love this! I just moved away from my mom (but I'm 21 years older than your son, haha!) and I plan on making my mom a scrapbook for Christmas. This is a great piece for inspiration. I love how simple it is, yet how professional it looks. I think so many people get too carried away with embellishments now a days, and their pages look too cluttered. Yours is just perfect! Two thumbs up, mom!
