I saw this nifty little video for making an apple swan and just had to try it http://www.craftster.org/blog/?p=5967 (oops!  try this link until ours is repaired http://video.about.com/culinaryarts/How-to-Make-an-Apple-Swan.htm)  The video is the perfect tutorial.  It only took a few minutes to cut this little guy out the apple!

Here he is floating on a sea of mini stuffin muffins Cheesy

That looks awesome! Is it my imagination, or does the turkey look a little jealous? Cheesy

Cheesy!!  I think he wanted some of the turkey.

Maybe some reds and greens!  That would be pretty.

Definitely spray with lemon juice or give it a lemon juice/water bath like the guy mentions.  Even though I did that, he was browning by the end of dinner.  He held up pretty well, though!

That's a sweet idea!  It would be fun to do a different carving for each person, too.  This one is really simple, but pretty http://www.funnyphotos.net.au/images/fruit-carvings-apple-butterfly1.jpg
