It took me almost three months to finish this. Its my first blanket. It is also the biggest project to date. I love the fact that its aqua blue and yellow, our favorite colors. It is made up of 24 10 inch squares/cubes and it is geometric in design. It took about 120 balls of yarn. BUT IT WAS SOOO WORTH IT

I made it for my sailor fiancee. Its a labor of love which I made because he is embarking on a seven month trip on sea. He says that its cold at sea and he wants to remember my hugs when he's there. So here's the solution. I love it.

I know i made a mistake in sewing them in a pattern but i think the randomness of this afghan is definitely me.

Wow! This is great! The squares (and colors) remind me of those flags that ships use to communicate...I think they're called maritime flags or something?...which makes it even more fitting for a sailor! :-)

great job, I love the colours and it's great when things are a bit random. I've just started my first blanket and I can't imagine it ever being finished!
