I love to recycle............ I love the felting process......but I cant knit to save my life......I found a wool sweater at the thrift store and felted it ...... wanted to make something out of it........I decided to use only recycled items...... another trip to the thrift store...... linen shorts and a leather belt......

I wish I had taken a picture of everything before the transformation....(have to remember that next time)

this is what I came up with........

I like the shape, considering I had no plan when I first started

I had scraps from the sweater .....and made a little pouch

I used the belt tassels to attach the belt as a handle.....I did put two extra grommets on the belt to help hold it on better...... i also used the tassels for a button loop

I used a pair of shorts to line the bag with .... I used the back pockets of the shorts for pockets on the inside of the bag which I forgot to take pictures of but will add them after i take them.

thanks for looking.... Grin

The purse turned out so gorgeous!  I love the shape of the bag, and the sweater's texture looks amazing, and its just an added bonus that everything is recycled.  Great job!

That's gorgeous - I love the combination of the felted wool and the leather handle.  And the little felt flower and button are beautiful details. The bag is a lovely shape too.

That's really cute. I like the texture of the bag and using the existing pockets on the shorts was a really genius idea. Great job.

Stop being so damned positive. Staring at the sun only blinds some one. By only looking at the positive, you miss an entire beautiful world of shadows and colors. Don't be overly negative, be realistic. The world is so much more complex and beautiful that way.

oh my gosh! that is AWESOME!!!!! I love it, the shape is terrific! So you felted the sweater and when it was felted to your satisfaction you cut it up? I have wanted to try that, now I need to find a sweater. Does it have to be 100% wool?    Great bag! :O)

Wow!  So, you did an amazing job felting the piece in the first place, because cable never turns out right for me!!
Then you pieced together a sweet shape for a purse!
Then you added in lots of adorable details which are fabulous!
