I just started knitting early this year and after I started to get the hang of a friend asked me to make something for a costume (Russia, from Axis Powers Hetalia) she'd be doing in the summer. I agreed, and then decided that knitting a ten foot scarf was a lot harder than it sounded. Needless to say, I didn't make it in time for the summer convention she wanted it for. However, I told her that I would definitely have it done for her for Christmas.
Now, at a whopping 121 inches long, I give you the Monstrosity!

It's nothing fancy, just a simple garter stitch all the way through.

And this is an action shot from behind:

It took me months to finish this thing, it's not perfect but at this point that matters very little to me. It wraps around my neck once and the tails fall to the backs of my knees, that's all that counts. It's finished! Yay!

Way to stick with it!  I hate garter stitch (and stockinette stitch for that matter), since it's so boring after the first few inches.  Sweaters that are just stockinette stitch with no detail in them get really tedious to me.
Anyway, nice job with the scarf!
