I have a Singer Curvy and I'm attempting a blanket stitch with mercerized cotton, but my top thread keeps breaking somewhere in the machine.  I've adjusted the tension, which my manual suggested, but no matter how tight or loose it still happens.  It doesn't happen on the straight stitch.  What's going on?

I'm not really sure, since you're following your troubleshooting guide, but perhaps you need a new needle? Silly, I know, but it happened once that my thread kept nesting, and all I needed was a new needle Tongue

Yeah, I would have suggested a new needle as well. Last week my thread kept breaking and a new needle took care of the problem. At least that's worth a try.

Try a larger needle or even a topstitching needle.

I kinda had this problem a while ago, particularly the top thread breaking. Turns out I just inserted the needle backwards...so maybe check that? otherwise, i'm not sure, good luck though!
