Old Levi's - become Memory Box

Here is a new box (made of post consumer recycled paper) that I covered in a the scraps from a pair of old levi's.

The waistband goes round the top and the entire outside is covered in material.



I make them as memory boxes. Inside, a denim pocket holds cards and a pencil. Small notes and memories are recorded and slipped inside. My life is fast paced and I do not want to forget those funny things my children say and do. This is a simple way of keeping memories.



I have attached a silver dog tag and plan on hand stamping a little something on each one I make as a gift this Christmas.

This is  a really cool idea.  I have lots of boxes that need some attention.  I like this so I think I might try it.  A series of these boxes would look great on my son's shelving in his bedroom and perhaps help him to keep it tidy.  lol (he's 11 so he needs all the help he can get at being tidy.

this has all the ingredients of a great gift!
who doesn't love jeans? and then again, who doesn't like boxes?
and plus it has the sentimental value of what gets saved inside it.

Great idea.  I've already made 3 denim quilts AND still have a stockpile.  It would make a fine workbasket.  You did a good, looks great.

Ingenious idea, i think that is prone to dust. What kind of glue did you use?

yeah good point.  makes me wonder how much harder it would be to make the cloth cover removable so that it could be washed?  OR... a free-standing washable denim box, would also be cool.
