32 days until Christmas, and I've decided that as a gift for my boyfriend's parents, I'd cross stitch a map of Middle Earth to compliment the lovely vintage Lord of the Rings print that is hanging up in their hall. This is the image. There are 39 colors and 101,103 stitches in this bad boy and I think that the only way that I'll even come close to getting it done in time is if I'm accountable in some respect, so I've decided to do a WIP thread here, because Craftster is so awesome and always gets me in the mood to do some stitchin'! I'll be posting up an in progress image every day or two until it's done. Please send me all the moral support that you can, because for the next 30 days, the only people gunna rest in here are the rats!

Day One, 11/21: Got all my fleece and started stitching from the top left corner on 22 ct. Aida.

I have been working on a pattern for 3 months that has 260,000 stitches--
It does take along time to do!!  Smiley

I didn't get as much done yesterday as I wanted to, but Thanksgiving is coming up and I'm not planning on going anywhere, so hopefully I can catch up! It's been so dreary that I haven't been able to get a good picture, so I took a screencap from the program I'm using to mark off what I've stitched. (KG-Chart LE)

Day three begins!

Happy Thanksgiving, Craftsters! Smiley I hope everyone has a safe and happy holiday, I'm looking forward to another day on this monster. Smiley

A screenshot of the new progress. Another 25x30 square almost cleared! So far I've been using 12 of 39 colors, and while I was dubious on how it would look while working on it so closely, from a bit farther it looks great.

A bit farther back, without and with flash:

I think I saw this originally on Sprite Stitch forums... maybe you're the one who posted about it Wink That's so awesome though, and in 30 days? Wow. I'm doing one not close to as intricate and It's taken me two months on and off xD It looks amazing so far, i can't wait to see it done! I'll probably do one similar next year... BF and I are big LotR fans.
