I've come down with a mild case of "softie fever" and was smitten with Mad Dog from "Softies Only A Mother Could Love".  Then, a friend gave me a couple yards of black suede-like fabric.  Destiny!  My sewing machine thread kept breaking though and I sewed him by hand.

Beetle Bug was the inspiration for this one.  She's sewn from fabric scraps and her gingham legs have quilt batting filling for added body.

I have that book! It's great - I've made so many softies from that. I made Mad dog also - one for me and one for my dog. I think yours is much better than mine- the legs on mine came out too thin.
I also wanted to make the Beetle bug, but haven't yet - yours is so cute!  I love your fabric choices!

I have made the mad dog as well, yours looks great!! I used a brown towel for mine, it was cheap (I got two out of a $5 towel, and the toweling makes it look like it is hairy.
