My sis works in a road construction in southern ON.  She drove up for a visit this weekend and asked me to paint a design on her hard hat.
I searched my folder stash for some appropriate images, and the perfect one came in the form of an Urban Threads hand embroidery pattern.
Asphalt Angel was done in black and orange sharpie and silver paint pen (to go with construction colors).
I hope it holds up.

The flash didn't do the pic any favors - the black does not look blotchy or washed out in person.  The second pic is a more true representation of the colors.

Wow, this is great.  I wish I would have had something like this when I was in the trades.  Nice work.

I love it - it looks fantastic and a great way of personalizing a boring piece of work gear.  Can she put varnish or something over it to make it more durable?

I am not sure if she can varnish it (safety reasons), but since it is Sharpie, it should at least set a good stain into the plastic which she can touch up with her own markers if it gets dull or scuffed.
