I made this dress a few months ago but am just getting around to posting, now that it's too chilly to actually wear the thing... The fabric is from an awesome vintage sheet that I had sitting around my collection for about a year, and I based the pattern on a dress my mom made me many years back.

I love the fabric because it's cool and breezy, but not so thin that it's transparent. The fit is fabulous and I don't feel the need to wear a bra with it (cha ching!)

It's pretty simple, no pockets or anything. I used an invisible zipper, so the stripes look really great from behind too.

That is fantastic!  Very cute, your own pattern?  I need to learn how to make nice-fitting dresses like that that don't have a horizontal seam at the waist (I guess I need to learn princess seams?)

Yup, I live right off of BSJ! These pictures were taken on the Cabrini Bridge on a walk to City Park, and on the way home we stopped at Pandora's for snowballs! It was a perfect afternoon.

I have this fabric I've been wanting to make a dress out of and THIS is exactly the style I've had in mind all along. Unfortunately, my sewing skills aren't up to par (especially without a pattern).

I lift my hat up to you for this - great job!!!

You seriously have this fabric?! Mine was a vintage flat sheet that I got in New Orleans a couple years ago. That's pretty wild!
