Ok, now I am with it and still embarrassed. I posted at the wrong cookie swap, lol. Yes, I know darn good and well which swap I am in, lol. I was looking at the pics and clicked the wrong one.

I went over to my Mom's and snagged all her vintage cookbooks. I have been going through them. Today, DH & I bought all our baking supplies. We armed, loaded and ready. Smiley

Okay, now I'm embarrassed because for the LONGEST time, I have been wondering what DH stands for?!!! I know it must be husband right? But what does the D stand for? I keep trying to figure it out.. Doggone Husband, Damn Husband, (wow- and all the D adjectives I came up with are bad!! LOL) By the way... I am soooo looking forward to baking!! We can do more than a dozen? Because I want to bake a few different batches of things!

LOL it could be any one of those things, depending on how you're feeling about your man at the time!

Yummy! I make a lot of banana bread - I always end up with three bananas that start to go bad and I just can't bring myself to waste food. my family and neighbors end up eating a lot of banana bread, since I make so much of it! My fave recipe is from the America's Test Kitchen cookbook, but I omit the vanilla and use vanilla flavored yogurt instead of plain. Then I only have to buy one type of yogurt.

I found out last night that I can bake brownies in my toaster/convection oven.  I WANTED THOSE BROWNIES.

Oooh, you'd be surprised what you can cook in one of those! In my last house that I lived in for THREE YEARS my landlord refused to replace the circa 1950 oven. If I tried to bake a cake in it, it would be black on top and pudding on the bottom. Trying to cook dinner was a nightmare. Gotta love the convection oven. Even now, with a perfectly good oven, I cook in mine quite a bit. Especially in the summer when I don't want to heat up the house. (I'm not much of a griller)

When my banannas start to go bad I toss them in the freezer...When I am ready I pull a few out and nuke them 45 sec to thaw and right in the batter they go..Mmmmmm and they are sooooo soft and moist OMG good!!
