My almost-niece (best friend's daughter) will turn one on Christmas.  Being a good auntie, I'm starting her off early on handmade gifts!  I've got something for her birthday (have to give her separate gifts, after all!), but for Christmas, I knit her an elephant based on Susan B. Anderson's pattern for Elephante.  I used a different size needle (3.5 mm, not 4) and my crochet hook was a G, not an E, but I don't think she turned out too badly!

I absolutely adore this pattern! I've had it queued on Ravelry forever and have never gotten around to making it. Elle is adorable. I love the colors you selected. Is the yarn Sugar 'n Cream?

Thank you all so much! Smiley

Yes, both colors are Sugar 'n Cream - really whatever I had leftover.  It worked out almost exactly.  I think I have a yard or two left of the pink/orange/yellow and none of the blue/green/yellow.  Smiley

Adorable! I love how colorful it is. My best friend had a baby a few months ago and I think I may try this pattern out as well!

It's a pretty easy pattern, though I had to practice on the KFB (knit front back) and the M1 (make one) ... first time for either, but if I can do it, anyone can!
