i was asked to make a cake for my friends daughters first birthday. she wanted it to be Winnie the Pooh themed and to be a chocolate cake (so it would be messy!) i know that not everyone likes chocolate cake, so i made some vanilla cupcakes with color specks inside. i used buttercream icing on the cake and cupcakes. the pooh faces and the bee are fondant and the butterflies and the letters are chocolate. i am just starting to self learn how to decorate so i'm pretty happy with how it turned out.

a close up of the bee and cupcakes.

thanks for looking.  Smiley

These are amazing! You definitely have an eye for detail. For just starting to learn you are very advanced and talented. I love specialty birthday cakes. I do special cakes for my 5 year old daughter and 2 year old son every year for their birthdays. It is always so rewarding to see the smiles on their little faces, and all the party goers too! Keep up the great work! Thanks for sharing!

Yeah, so, you're gonna make the exact same cake for my birthday too, right? I LOVE it!!! It's so cute (I'm a HUGE Pooh Bear fan) and you did an amazing job! Especially for just starting out. =) I'm totally showing this to my husband when he gets home!
