My sewing machine just broke and it turns out it would cost just as much to fix it as i paid for it. so im in the market for a new machine. I dont want to spend a whole lot, maybe $200-300 give or take, id love to spend more, but dont have the money right now. I use my machine alot, on various fabrics from silks to denims. does anyone have any suggestions? thanks so much

I got the Kenmore (from, believe it or not, Sears) model that has 110 stitches.  It is regularly priced $299, but I looked for it to go on sale & got it for $225, I think.  It is a good basic machine.  I've had it for a year now & been very happy with it.  Button holer works awesome (my old hand-me-down machine didn't have one & I love it).  Smiley

Kenmore also has a model that is $249 & has a few less stitches.  Not sure what other differences there are, if any.

I am collecting cotton Hawaiian fabric scraps for a quilt if you wanted to send any my way!
