I was just thinking, I'm gonna have to get something for my daughter's 3 teachers for Christmas. I remember last year asking my daughter what all they got and it seemed like the same things over and over again. Coffee gift baskets, hot chocolate gift baskets, candles, etc. This year I want to give them something different. Something they don't always get. I thought about crocheting them something up. But what?! What are some good, unique, ideas for a teacher gift?

My kids teachers love when I crochet them things.  One year I made them all crosses and framed them with different colored border (they go to a catholic school).  Another year I made them their monogram and framed again.  Still another year I filet crocheted doily's for the season that said things like "Peace" "Joy" "Season's Greetings", etc.

You could do scarf and hat sets.  I think anything handcrafted is more appreciated by teachers as it's not something they get often.

Just because someone doesn't love you the way you want them to,
doesn't mean they don't love you with all they have.

What about a pretty shawl or capelet?  Theres a ton of free patterns on the web, lots of variety and normally they dont take much time or yarn.

-Currently crafting.....A Weasley blanket.  I'd love some squares made from fellow Craftsters.

I made scarves last year, my daughter told me what color she thought she'd like. But this year she has a male teacher and I have no idea. My husband doesn't like scarves so he vetoed my scarf idea.

Maybe a beanie for the male teacher.  I know there was a really quick tutorial on here for some cute ones!

Thank you all for your help!  I'm thinking I'm gonna do a scarf and found some really cute patterns on Lion Brand

I'm a high school teacher and I would love crocheted bookmarks (most teachers are book lovers), coasters or even tree ornaments. Smiley

You just gave me a brilliant idea!!  I'm going to make her a scarf like planned.  Then I'll have my daughter, (who's trying to learn to crochet and can chain like a mad woman! lol) make her a bookmark.  Then it can be a special gift from her student as well!!
