« on: November 15, 2009 09:29:31 AM »

Nylon flower making enjoyed a brief popularity in the United States in the '70s and soon became very popular in Japan. In recent years, the crafts popularity has spread Asia, Europe and Australia.

Now they are back to the homeland with new colors of nylons and materials.

Japanese have origami, we have stocking / pantyhose creations!!!

I learned this craft when I was a little girl. My grandmother taught it to me but, back then, silk stockings were used.

I have made roses out of knee hi's and a friend of mine made some lillies.  I wonder if anyone tried to make a butterfly out of the hose yet.  I would love to make one for the Holocaust Museum Butterfly Project.
