My best friend has a doberman, however his coat length isn't great for the Canadian winters, so I made him an extra special 2 layer fleece winter coat!

What a nice bum!

It looks a bit big but when he walks it still fits well

The bottom

and the top, complete with zipper hole since she walks him on a harness

Love this! Well done!
I love Dobermans too, although at the moment I don't have one. I hope to again! They are wonderful dogs. Smiley

So did you use a pattern or what? I am curious. I love the use of the zippers. I noticed there is a zipper on the side too- was that a design element or does it have a reason for being there?

Great work! Smiley

I made the pattern myself, based on a different dog coat that she has for him.  But now I have a pattern and basic dimensions! it's only 4 pieces plus the zipper.  The zipper on the side is how it does up! you step the dogs front legs through the front holes then wrap the bottom around his tummy and zip up!

This Red Doberman isn't from Calgary, is he?  He looks just like one we see at the dog park.

Nice work!   Smiley

The side zipper is such a good idea for a big dog.  Great coat!

The second picture makes me think of Blue Steel  Cheesy
