I was given this and a few yards of black fabric to replicate it:

and I made this out of it. I added the flower so it wouldn't be so plain, but she didn't like my flower Sad It took so long to make, too!

I want her to pay me for making this, but I don't know how much to charge! I've never been given fabric and told to make something for someone I dont' even know. Any advice?

My advice would be to charge her by the hour - but it depends if you can calculate that or not...  If you can, maybe find out what kind of rates pros charge and mayble halve it?  Any pros out there?

I think a minimum of $50 bucks. You could charge more if you feel comfortable. I charge people $15 an hour with a one hour minimum, even if its just hemming pants. It seems high, but I'm not gonna go through the trouble of talking to them (which can take an hour) plus making the item for less. I'm not a professional but my time is still valuable and to me thats a price I feel good about.

i think the flower is cute... are they beads? i know bead work takes some time. i wish i had the confidence to replicate clothes! that way i can borrow designer items and knock em off... hehehe. Lips sealed

I think you should charge like, $40. Im not sure though. I have problems with pricing things.
