I can't believe there isn't a Fiber Friday the 13th yet!  I guess I'll use this as my shot at being the Fiber Friday opener.

The first one I'm calling Mermaid because it makes me think of a fairytale sea home for a mermaid.  I purchased the roving on Etsy.  I am just getting into plying and this is try number 3 or so.  I think it came out well.  It's a sport/worsted weight BFL.

Then I did some dying of my own on some mill ends.  It was supposed to be purple and I got purple and a few other colors.  I like the way it came out.  I spun it thick and thin and there are some spots where the mohair was really concentrated which make this a funky bulky weight yarn.  This one doesn't have a name, any one have any great ideas?

I hope I did FF a justified kick off....

Wow!  That fiber I sent you spun up gorgeous UntouchableFace!  The different tones came out wonderfully and you got a hunkload of yarn from it too!  Beautiful!  I really like Wild Horse too!

I love Fiber Friday! I have been lurking through the Fiber Friday threads since 2006, but have never posted. I have two yarns (one is a WIP) that I would like to share.

This first one is a single that I spun up back in April. I finally got around to winding it off the bobbin and skeining it up. I'm terrible at getting a nice, tight skein so please forgive the lumpy spots. I have not checked the yardage yet or WPI, but I know it's a fine single and it's a full 8oz (minus a minimal amount of waste from neps and whatnot) of Crown Mountain superwash Merino in "Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds":

This other one is also a Crown Mountain superwash that I ordered back in March. This colorway is "Sunshine of Your Love":

And on the bobbin:

I'm spinning this on a Fricke S-160DT. I think I will 2-ply the Sunshine of Your Love.

I spent the week knitting instead of spinning ....

6 baby hats

2 cabled fingerless mitts

2 adult hats

1 really cool thrummed hat (with earflaps!)  I'm working on a 2nd one of these now.

Beautiful yarns today!  Unfortunately I haven't had much chance to spin lately but I love looking at everyone's efforts!

Mmm, I love everything, especially that Forest Frenzy!

I've spun up a couple small skeins on my drop spindle, but I haven't photographed anything, maybe next week.

I also tried out a spinning wheel.... that went horribly wrong.  How long is it supposed to take til you get the hang of it?
