Oh.  Wow.  I LOVE this!  You made a really beautiful work of art out of a horrendous bridesmaid dress . . . at least, I think it was horrendous . . . hm, you have any "before" pictures? Cheesy

No more blog + no more facebook = more time for crafting!

You wanted a before pic, well here it is!!!
Don't we look thrilled... We all hated them. I'm only smiling(that's me top right) because I started early on the gin!

The best thing I can say about the dress is that it has provided a lot of fabric for projects (I took the scissors to it the day after the wedding).
I'm getting married next year and I had considered getting her back with something truly dreadful in peach with ruffles and bows, or maybe floral with leg of mutton sleeves (she'd hate me for ever she's a punk!).

This rocks! It's gorgeous, brilliant, and ... and I'm speechless!

ps: this would have looked awesome on the dress while you were wearing them!

DOH lol omg - did your sister the punk do that to you?? Ahh, but don't you look like a lovely chorus of angels *snort* Oh DEAR! I have had to wear some stuffy bridesmaid dresses, i have a navy thing and a red thing - if we use the rest of your dress and combine with mine we can make a giant US flag!! lol

that is truly a work of art.

I really like the finished product,
but it seems that with a reshaped neckline, cut off sleeves, hemming, and some dye and ribbon the dress wouldn't be too bad. ok, so you'd have to practically remake the dress... but still it could be worse

What a dichotomy; steel rendered in cloth. It's beautiful. it must have taken a long time to do all that quilting. I'm sure they'll love it.
