I recently purchased a dress from the thrift store in the hopes of making underwear from the fabric.
Not only did I get some cute undies out of the deal, but I was also able to make a cute top and skirt for the beach to go with it!

Here is the dress:

And here is the underwear on its own:

And here is the top and undies:

And finally, here I am modelling the beach cover.

Very cute and you did such a great job! I like the beach cover duo but I prefer my cover-up to really cover me, but then again I no longer have a body that should be shown off like yours. Mine seems to scream "COVER-IT-ALL-UP"!
The fabric made me think of red stars, the vague blue and white stripes could make a funky flag motif. JMHO
Again, job well done!

... and they lived happily ever after ... in Ireland.

Thanks for the feedback! I'm still a total n00b at all this - this was my first reconstruction, so I'm glad that it turned out okay. As far as the "cover up", one of the best beaches to go to here in Van is a nude beach, so actually when I wear stuff like that I look pretty uptight  Grin Plus there really wasn't a lot of fabric left in the dress, so yes, perhaps "cover up" wasn't the right word...maybe, "cover some"? LOL

It is very pretty. Good job on your first reconstruction.
