HELPPPP!! I bought a brand-new sweater that I absolutely loved...and I bleached it on its first wash. Always read the instructions carefully!!! It was forty dollars to, not that much but still. anyways, I was wondering if I could dye it. It's only bleached in a couple spots. If I dyed it, would it all come out the same, or would I have to bleach it and then dye the whole thing?? I'm confused, I've never dyed anything. And This sweater cannot be worn now, it looks awful. thanks in advance!

what color is it? if it's a dark color and the bleach spots are really light it might not dye evenly. But then, if it's not wearable now, you've got nothing to lose, so go ahead and try it, I say. What is the fiber content of the sweater?

Or, bleach the whole thing and THEN die it.

its light blue, the spots are pretty noticeable, they are like ultra-ultra light blue. It's wearable I guess, if all else fails. More than half of it is cotton, but I cant remember what percent. I'd check but its in the wash again, my mom said to put it in the wash with other darker blue things on cold and see if it helped.

OK, I had a dark blue cotton shirt that got bleach on it and therefore had light blue spots.  I tried to just dye it straight back to the dark blue but the spots were still noticable.  I don't know if that would do the same since it is yarn but there you go for all it is worth.
