I haven't posted anything here in a long time. Today I saw the Gnome post on Craftster front page, and I thought "Hey why not share MY gnome!"
I made a purse, it has all the bells and whistles with interior zippers, and exterior pockets, I used a super heavy duty interfacing on the bottom which would allow it to stand on its own if it weren't so tall. My camera is in bad shape, so I don't allways get the greatest pictures. Bear with me...
So, The story goes:
On my wanderings through the backyard I call "The .7 Acre Wood", my daughter and I happened upon a tiny, purple, sparkly berry. It was a species we had not seen before.
Trying to find the bush it must have grown on, we were surprised to see they grew at the top of a tall tree. We could not quite get to them, and felt defeated until my daughter noticed tiny footprints winding down the trail with the tiny, magic looking berries strewn about like they had been dropped.. (To me the footprints appearred to be nothing other than little spots from fallen twigs or raindrops, but she was sure they were footprints.) As we neared our property's boundaries, I thought I could hear a beautiful sound coming from some thickets nearby. The prickles and branches were too dense to crawl through, and I decided it must have been the sounds of the town down below us, but my daughter peered into the thick foliage, and she says she could see a cute little old man sitting on a mushroom. "He looked like a tiny Santa" she said, and he was playing a guitar just like Dad!
We have been up there now many times searching for our mysterious friend. She has not caught sight of him again, but we did hear his sweet strumming one warm summer afternoon. The bees and crickets were playing percussion, and the birds were singing along...
Hope you enjoyed my silly story!
