So I really wanted to be Tinkerbell for Halloween, but the pre-made costume I liked was over $80, so being the crafty girl I am, I decided I'd make my own costume. I had relatively no sewing experience (my grandma taught me how to make an apron this summer and since then I had only sewn one pillow)...so that probably wasn't the best idea, but I figured Tinkerbell's dress shouldn't be that hard to make. Boy was I wrong...not having a pattern and being so inexperienced this costume took me forever! But overall I was pretty happy with how it turned out and all of my friends told me I did a really nice job. Basically I made the whole dress, a poofy tulle underskirt to make the bottom of the dress poof out a bit, I painted green glitter paint on the store bought wings, cut and styled the blonde wig, and made the wand out of wooden shapes, glittery green paint, ribbon and beads (all of this in just a few weeks while moving and taking mid-terms, yikes!)
Now on to the pictures...please excuse the horrible blonde wig, semi-blurry pics, and strange faces, most of these were taken after I got home from my Halloween festivities because I realized I hadn't taken many pictures where you could see the whole costume!

You can see the wand much better in this one, that was a lot of fun! Smiley

Here you can see the lace-up back and the glittery green wings:

Here is my friend and I, though his "box" (and yes, he was very proud that he had a bigger box than all the other guys we saw with the same costume out that night haha) was blocking most of my costume you can see how the bottom skirt portion poofed out!

Really cute costume! I was definitely Peter Pan (Peter Pam?) for Hallowe'en. I love this costume for the coincidence of it too.
