I made my first jacket using McCall's 5378. It is unlined with way too many facings for my taste, but I still did it. The fabric is an Asian-inspired silk that I picked up near my work at Yardage Town in Kearny Mesa in San Diego. This was part of my Pattern Review contest challenge, so I am still happy with the outcome.

The back has a neat pleat detail in the swing coat, that I do like.

The colors in the jacket are beautiful.  They're perfect with the gray.  I also love the style of the jacket.  I may make one in a longer length.

Wow--I sort of feel like a bit of a stalker because I found this post of yours after seeing your recently posted cowlneck top--- Cheesy

I love this!! I admit that even though I am a clothing moderator, I rarely sew clothes for myself anymore!  This one has inspired me!  I was given a lot of fabric from China that I had no idea what to make--this is perfect!

You and I are about the same size so it is nice to see the finished product on a real body and not on a pattern or model!  Thank you--what a great job you do!

Thanks! I really appreciate the nice comments. I've only been sewing for 1 1/2 years, now, so I'm always happy to have a piece come out well.
