Maurice Sendak's "Where the Wild Things Are" was one of my favorite books as a kid, and I was PSYCHED when I found out what it was being made into a full-length movie! (If you haven't seen it, GO NOW! It's fabulous!
) In honor of the film (and because, coincidentally, Halloween was coming up soon) I decided to replicate Max's trademark wolf suit. I teach elementary grades K-4, so I even got to wear my fancy new duds to school!
I started with a McCall's pattern and made LOTS'o'mods to it. I was rather pleased with how it turned out... I hope I get another excuse to wear it!
LET THE WILD RUMPUS START!!!
I'LL EAT YOU UP!
Detail on the hood and gloves:
My creative and very helpful hubby made my crown out of a plastic flower pot which he cut and spray painted. Thanks, sweetie!
My clowning around in the park in my comfy suit...
ENJOY, and HAPPY HALLOWEEN!
