So. I'm an anime nerd, but one of my favorites at the moment is Bleach. At first, I thought about dressing as a character, but all their costumes are so generic, I decided to be an unnamed Hollow/Vizard and make a creepy mask to go along with it. If you have never heard of Bleach, Hollows are equivalent to demons except they wear a creepy mask which varies from Hollow to Hollow. Vizards are people that have Hollow-like powers and wear the Hollow mask when they fightblahblahblabh.

Mask before painting

It's pretty heavy and attached to my face via elastic headbands and sheer awesome

I am aware I vaguely look like Frank from Donnie Darko.....  Tongue

Sorry.... my fiance took the pics and it was night so lighting was bleh.

The base of the mask was a blank full face white one I got at Hobby Lobby and I covered and shaped it with paper clay. The horns (supposed to look like ram's horns) are actually have wire bases wrapped in masking tape and then covered with celluclay. (Yes, I know they look crappy but it was very last minute) I attached them by punching holes in the mask and then thread wire through the holes to hold them down and duct taping it down so the wire didn't poke my eyes out. Theeeen, I spray painted it matte white and trimmed fake fingernails to a point and epoxy glued them as the teeth! Finally, I painted the red accents with acrylic paint.

I also made the kimono top from the Simplicity 2940 pattern. First pattern-made garment! I didn't even follow the directions.... I made it the day of Halloween in 3 hours.  Undecided The hakama pants were bought a loooong time ago for another Bleach costume that never happened.

The katana is real... decided to not bring it out since drunken fools would hurt themselves if they got a hold of it.

P.S. Inspired by this pic from the manga:

I love Bleach and knew what it was right away from the thumbnail. It's so awesome (and creepy) that you used fake fingernails as teeth- they're perfect!!!

Thanks! I actually saw the fake fingernail idea on another site where they used them as teeth too. Quite ingenious.  Wink

I just agree with all of the other comments - it is so recognizable from Bleach, the nails make great teeth, and you looked great on Halloween.
