Maybe a distant relative of Mr. Tumnus?

The lines on the legs really bug me. I had to use a furry blanket. they weren't as noticeable indoors at least. I didn't have to spend any money on the costume except the heels which were like $2 at a thrift store and gorilla glue which will go to my dad anyway. so under $10 on this costume because i used what I had. Yeah the "flute" and "arrow" is just a stick. I wanted to make a panflute for the costume but didn't have time.

this picture shows the hooves well.
The leaves are just beautiful. Problem is, its hard to see my hocks that i worked so hard on

and for anyone curious about the hooves, they were high heels minus the heel (and those were quality heels! I had a really hard time getting those heels off),

old window screen, paper mache

and car bondo. ^that's the progress of the legs very roughly done but well secured. One heel i ripped off the outer layer to have more flexibility but the other one ended up better for ankle support and gorilla gluing the fur.

and theres me working on the top. No pattern, totally winged it. I ziggy stitched instead of actual hemming b/c it gave it a more 'rough' appearance...plus i hate hemming

The feather is a tail feather from our turkey that i found. The necklace, belt, and leather pouch are my sister's. the other thing hanging from the belt is a necklace i made using the other one's idea with random feathers, charms, etc. I made the cloak as well. It was less than even a half-circle cloak. I figures fauns are pretty warm with the fur. And let me tell you, I wore this to school and it was extremely warm.

this is in study hall. The ears and fake leaves I just used bobby pins to put on. I made the horns out of gold polymer clay with diamond studs and glued them to clips.
the flowery arm thing was going to be a wreath for my head but i changed my mind. It is braided cloth w/ fake flowers
My inspiration came from many places. main picture references >

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fdYCDHK6WJI&feature=fvwThis was a particularly fun costume to make and even funner (if hot) to wear. It even kind of forced me to walk like a faun.
I will answer any questions as best i can. And of course comments are always quite welcome!
And this is also my first contest entry. yay!
