So I went to a party with the theme "Music Videos". Well I haven't seen a music video in several years and I was just really outdated.

I struggled for the weeks coming up with an idea. Until my s/o reminded me about The Guild's "Do you Wanna Date My Avatar" music video.

That was IT! So I had one week and a very limited budget. So I ran to the thrift store, bought a courderoy dress, a white sheet and a slip and off I went. I didn't have a pattern, or any idea how to make a faux bodice in three days. But it all mostly came together.

And the finished costume, with only tape, thread, trim and plastic needlepoint canvas for the shoulders bought new. Everything else made from recycled sheets and thrift store clothes.

The dress that became my bodice.

Now it's not exactly music-video ready, but I was really proud of my patternless and re-purposed costume!!!

I hope you like it too!!

I like it. It's very cute. Plus, great job on getting it put together in such a short amount of time and thrift store buys. Smiley

Thanks! I normally do not wear so little, but I'm pretty pleased with how it came out.

You look fab! Great job with the short timeframe.
I don't watch music vids either.  I am so outdated that I would have wound up with some 80s hair metal music vid costume Tongue

Thank you!!!

It was definitely out of my area of expertise, but I really was hoping to make as good a representation as I could with the time I had and I really wanted to use repurposed materials!
